Professional Development
The essential personal and professional skills they didn’t teach you in school that are the keys to succeeding as a doctor, and a professional.
Deliver the best of yourself to the people most receptive: These lessons will build and develop your personal strengths as your authentic professional brand, and provide you with the tools to grow, evolve, and continually adapt your clinical practice as a business. Topics including branding, marketing, business agility, logistics and contract negotiations will be discussed. This course is designed to make you not only the best doctor you can be, but the best professional possible. Because you can’t be a great doctor without great (and lots of) patients.
In this webinar, Dr.Marr positions Elevator Pitching as an agile tool for establishing reputation, and turning walking talking people into your personal billboards and megaphones to build your practice through authentic conversation, and with an adaptable framework for Pitching.
In this presentation, Dr.Marr defines basic sales and marketing metrics essential for evaluating our practices from a business standpoint. Then, he presents a framework for the Meet & Greet session that maximizes conversion rates, while leveraging it to increase retention and compliance and to create a tribe of clients that love working with you. By the end of the session you’ll realize that Meet & Greet sessions aren’t just about getting new patients, they’re about creating awesome patients and a fantastic patient base that gives back to you - And you’ll never want to stop them.
In this webinar Dr.Marr sheds light on the irony behind our increasing dependence to online business models, social media and high volume (low quality) reach marketing activities and learn to leverage networking as an essential component to our marketing and advertising methods. When, why, how often, where and how to make the most of our networking efforts will be addressed. Further, a Communications Matrix, for facilitating quality conversation and communication is presented, as is an ice-breaker framework, to get conversation going.
It’s our hope that this webinar will spark more specific questions about how to vet products and suppliers, as well as discussion about particular forms of products, standardization of herbs and bioavailability, but this webinar begins the discussion with and understanding of:

A "signature talk" is not enough. You need an entire soapbox platform to represent your brand values as a health & wellness expert! How do you define what you stand for, and how will you stand out as unique? Creating a wisdom platform is an essential part of your brand and marketing strategy because it represents your core values, your authentic personality as a business, and the culture you represent and are creating. Join Dr.Marr around the CAMPFIRE to talk about how creating a Wisdom Platform document might be the easiest actionable opportunity to help you carve out your niche in the marketplace.
Creating the perfect presentation is about being mindful of how you are presenting information, and how you're engaging with your audience's struggles. In this webinar, Dr.Marr takes the focus and pressure off of education as the primary goal for presentations, and delivers to you an actionable and pragmatic framework that will have you thinking entirely differently about how you're preparing for public talks.
Program design in medicine is about rethinking how we frame, market and deliver our services in a way that is more accessible and easier to commit to for our prospective patients.
In Part 2 of the Signature Programs series, Dr.Marr will dive deeper into how we can deliver individualized patient care in a standardized way. Building your practice with a signature program, or a set of programs makes your practice more efficient, and focused on the things that you do best.
In Part 3 we can expand your practice, improve your efficiency and maximize your revenues, it's time to start thinking about how we talk about our programs, brands, and businesses in general. Establishing a plan for your messaging - how you express your brand values, brand character and brand promise, is essential not just for selling your programs, but for maximizing your ability to market and network your practice in general.
As primary care physicians, Naturopathic Doctors are commonly called upon to advocate for, or support their patients in the process of applying for disability claims and programs. And while we are in an ideal position to do so, advocating for our patients can sometimes become a conflict of interest, or, at worst, can further worsen the relationship with the employee's employer, or case manager. Understanding how disability claims are adjudicated can provide opportunity to best support our patients in a safe, efficient, and appropriate return to work.
In this webinar:
How disability is defined in the workplace
How to best support your patient through a disability claim
What are absence management services?
What to expect as an attending physician
How disability claims are adjudicated
How to work with employers to accommodate an employee's disability
How to work with employers to create a safe and efficient return to work strategy.
Make no mistake - if you are a healthcare practitioner in private practice, you have no choice but to be an entrepreneur. You are one. Or at least you’re a business person. And that requires that in order for you to be successful financially, or otherwise - however you might define success; that you need to be always thinking about and adapting to the marketplace that you serve - the changing needs of your patients/clients.
And that means constantly learning about how to adapt, change, better your business. It means evaluating and assessing how you show up for your patients, how you are able to get in front of them, so to speak, and how you speak to them in a way that wants them want to listen to you.
You need an arsenal of resources to get you ready to max your business as quickly as possible. So whether you consume books as audiobooks or like drawing, scribbling and folding pages on old-school hardcopy books and putting them on your shelf, here is the 2021 pandemic version of the Essential Bookshelf for the Clinician Entrepreneur.
The adoption of Naturopathic Medicine by the mainstream is at a crucial Tipping Point in history - And how we talk about our business, our art, and our industry, has a direct impact on the patients we’ll attract into our practices. But pervasive historical stereotypes - borne from the very words we use ourselves to describe our craft - still persist. This is preventing the expansion of a positive public outlook on our profession. My hope is that this discussion is only the beginning of a greater adaptation for our profession, and an opportunity to increase our reach and influence. But we need to do so without compromising on the values and beliefs that are the heart and soul of Naturopathic Medicine.
In this webinar, Dr.Marr reviews the Naturopathic Principles and provides a starting point for discussion around sharing these ideals and values in a modernized way, towards improving public perception and mainstream adoption.
