Dr. Alana Shaw

Naturopathic Physician

Alana received her undergraduate degree (BSc.) from McMaster University where she also enjoyed a successful varsity basketball career. She graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2003 and then continued her education at the University of British Columbia where she studied reproductive endocrinology, infertility and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).

She has extensive clinical experience in the field of infertility and reproductive medicine after years of working closely alongside Dr. Anthony Cheung at the Grace Fertility Centre in Vancouver, and now at her private practice at Mint Integrative Health.

Alana continues to stay active in the academic community as an instructor at Boucher Institute of Naturopathic and also recently co-authored her first published article in a peer-reviewed journal. She is a regular speaker and presenter at local and national conferences including the BCNA Advances in Naturopathic Medicine conference, Institute of Women’s Health and Integrative Medicine conference, Collaborative Education conferences and NFH Women’s Health Symposiums.

Dr. Bobby Parmar

Dr. Bobby Parmar

Dr. Parmar obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Kinesiology, Psychology and the Humanities at Simon Fraser University. He proceeded to complete naturopathic medical training at the premiere institution the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. Going on 12 years working in Kitsilano, Vancouver he is practicing in a highly collaborative care wellness clinic called Mint Integrative Health. He is also adjunct faculty at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine where he teaches and supervises interns at various stages of their program including Genetics, Geriatrics, and Naturopathic Clinical Arts and Sciences.

Dr. Parmar stays engaged with the community by working with multiple organizations giving workshops to members of the Canadian Mental Health Association, The Arthritis Society of BC and Yukon, and the Earthsave Society of Canada. He has also previously served on the Board of Directors for the British Columbia Naturopathic Association and the Friends For Life Society.

As a fervent educator, Dr. Parmar has tailored his academic career to best manage family medicine through naturopathy. His work as a general primary care ND practitioner means he stays up to date with the most current knowledge for most health conditions. He is driven by a passion to better understand the dynamics of health and above all the ever-growing field of mind-body medicine and to convey that understanding to anyone in need or with the desire to be educated. Currently Dr. Parmar is a Key Opinion Leader for Lifelabs/RMA and has lectured on various medical topics to diverse groups of health professionals including MDs and NDs. He has also presented at the Collaborative Education Conference in 2018.

Dr. Laura Nicholas - Naturopathic Physician

Dr. Bobby Parmar

Dr. Laura Nicholas has a practice focused in women’s health, fertility, and gynecology. She supports women and their partners from preconception to postpartum to optimize fertility, pregnancy, and the growth of healthy families. Aside from fertility, she works with women struggling with hormone imbalances, menstrual irregularities, genitourinary infections, pelvic pain, and sexual dysfunction. 

Most recently, Dr. Nicholas founded and opened Luna Health Clinic, a women’s health and fertility clinic located Downtown Vancouver. Dr. Nicholas did her undergrad at Queen’s University in Biology and Environmental Health Sciences, and completed her medical training at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine. In 2021, Dr. Nicholas was honoured to win Runner-Up “Best Fertility Clinic” in the Georgia Straight Best of Vancouver Readers’ Choice Awards for her expertise in natural fertility. Dr. Nicholas is a regular speaker at the Canadian Fertility Show and a Key Opinion Leader for Lifelabs in HPV and cervical cancer screening.
